When I’m not working on my own projects I work as a dramaturge, researcher, and teacher. This work includes: 

  • Supporting other theatre artists and writers as a script consultant/dramaturge; 

  • Helping theatre companies and academics design and create research outputs for wider engagement;

  • Work with NGOs to facilitate community-based artistic projects.

  • Starling Hotline Jess Morgan

    Script Consultant

    In 2022 I worked with Jess as she wrote The Starling Hotline, reading drafts and working one-onone to help structure the show, which is this fantastic blend of storytelling and music.

  • Story & Research

    Edgeland is an outdoor, community performance by Limbik that ‘blends theatre, nature and technology’. Between 2024 and 2025, I worked with Limbik as a researcher looking at audience impact and process documentation, as a story consultant for the script, helped desgin and deliver community workshops, and finally as a community actor.

    Once There was a River (Oru Oorulai Oru Aaru) is a Tamil play I created in 2023, along with school children in North Chennai to address top-down government plans for the development of their neighbourhoods and city. As a dramaturge I worked to find a structure for the show, using both the existing research created by activists and experts, and the ideas and dreams of the participants.

  • Lecturer

    I deliver undergradute-level creative writing lecutres, seminars and workshops for ‘The Crito Project’, a higher education program run in UK prisons, in partnership with the University of East Anglia. As part of this I teach creative writing and literature.
